The Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court, Justice Tariq Parvez Khan took oath as Acting Governor NWFP on Monday, at an impressive ceremony, held at Governor's House, Peshawar. Senior Judge of the Peshawar High Court Shah Jehan Khan administered the oath. Chief Minister NWFP Akram Khan Durrani was also present on this occasion.
Chief Secretary NWFP Sahibzada Riaz Noor read out commission of appointment of Justice Tariq Parvez Khan, issued by president of Pakistan, as Acting Governor NWFP. Justice Tariq Parvez Khan will perform his duties as Acting Governor NWFP in place of Governor NWFP Ali Muhammad Jan Orakazai who has proceeded abroad. Later, the Acting Governor Justice Tariq Parvez Khan administered the oath to Justice Shah Jehan Khan, as Acting Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court.
The oath taking ceremony was attended by Judges of the Peshawar High Court, Provincial Ministers Maulana Fazle Ali Haqqani, Sardar Muhammad Idrees, Hafiz Hashmat Khan, Advisor to Chief Minster Allama Ramzan Tauqeer, District Nazim Ghulam Ali, I.G. Police, Provincial Secretaries and other high ranking officials.
