Former international midfielder and FIFA Referee Qazi Muhammad Asif (Peshawar) will represent Pakistan Football Referees Association (PFRA) in the elections of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) to be held on July 14. It may be mentioned that Qazi Muhammad Asif (Peshawar) and Ahmed Ali (Karachi) were elected as president and secretary general of PFRA, respectively.
Moreover, Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)'s secretary general Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi (Retd) has asked all the members of PFF Congress Electoral College (PCEC) to send their names by 21st May 2007. Under the PFF constitution's article 24-1 and article 90-e, the provincial football association, departments and PFRA are being required to forward their names by the given date, a spokesman of PFF said, here on Saturday.
The elections of PFF will be held on 14th July 2007 at FIFA Football House, Lahore. The 21-member electoral of PFF will cast their vote as per breakup: Punjab 3, NWFP 3, Sindh 3, Balochistan 3, Pakistan Wapda 1, Pakistan Railways 1, PIA 1, Police 1, Higher Education Commission 1, Pakistan Army 1, Pakistan Navy 1, Pakistan Air Force 1 and Pakistan Football Referees Association 1. They will elect PFF executive committee for the term 2007-11 having a President, three Vice-Presidents, eight members and two females belonging to Women Wing.
The office-bearers of the PFF will be elected on that day and new-body of PFF will start functioning from 1st September 2007. This is the first time that the PFF elections are being conducted under the new constitution of the Federation, adopted at a special PFF Meet held on 3rd March 2007. The constitution of the PFF was amended and adopted on the advice of the FIFA, the spokesman added.
