Additional Session Judge Karachi-South Muhammad Azim on Saturday ordered SHO PS City Court to lodge FIR against those nominated by KBA for manhandling, firing, threatening to kill and kidnapping Karachi Bar Association's members on May 12.
The order was issued on application of Naim Quraishi, General Secretary KBA who alleged some miscreants who could be identified, holding flag of MQM started firing on lawyers' procession going to SHC to attend Golden Jubilee ceremony of Supreme Court on May 12, 2007.
These armed person beaten lawyers, threatened to kill and kidnapped some lady advocates. Resultantly several lawyers were severely injured, while these persons also set on fire Bar room of lady lawyers at KBA building.
Naim Quraishi stated KBA members pointed out accused person to SHO PS City Court but he refused to initiate any legal action against them. Later, SHO made entry in Roznamcha about incident reported by lawyers, but showed himself absent and refused to lodge FIR.
Naming SHO PS City Court as respondent applicant prayed to direct him to lodge FIR U/S 154 CrPC in accordance with Roznamcha against those nominated by KBA members.
