Remote control toys have been declared a threat to security and are being banned in Myanmar, a news report said on May 15. Authorities in the military-run country have told toyshop owners in the Yangon area that the ban has been imposed because terrorists can place explosives in the toys, the Weekly Eleven-news journal reported quoting shop-owners.
The report said anyone who was found violating the order would be charged under Export and Import Control Act that carries a maximum life imprisonment for offenders. The import of such toys had been forbidden in the past but remote control cars.
