District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Hyderabad Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that the district government will provide healthy atmosphere to the youths of the district by implementing a plan for the promotion of sports.
This he said while addressing Inter-District Schools Boys & Girls Tournament Prize Distribution Ceremony 2005-2006 organised by the management of
Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Hyderabad at Board Stadium Latifabad on Monday night.
The DCO said that under the first phase of this multi-dimensional development plan, the district government was developing many playgrounds, mini stadium, such as Qasimabad Mini Sports Stadium and development of Niaz Stadium
He said that the district government on one hand was patronising players, sports clubs of various games while on the other hand it was hosting many national and international sports events in the district.
Listing the important national and international sports events hosted by district government, the DCO said that such events included squash tournament, Inter Provincial Hockey Tournament, Women Cricket Tournament, International Blind Cricket Tournament, International Women Basket Ball Tournament and Sindh Judo Tournament that has improved the image of the district at national level.
He re-affirmed that Hyderabad would be made as a hub of national and international sports activities in future as.
He said that the development of BISE Sports Stadium was also the achievement of district government and assured that all possible help would be provided for the further development so that many other sports avenues could be held in this stadium.
He said that in second phase of development plan for the promotion of sports, the establishment of sport city and facilities of boating sports was being planed and added that after the completion of these projects Hyderabad would be considered as unique city for the sports activities.
