A spokesman of the Privatisation Commission (PC) has clarified that all privatisation transactions were being carried out by the PC in accordance with the PC Ordinance 2000 and the rules and regulations laid down thereunder.
He was referring to a report regarding Public Accounts Committee (PAC) discussion on accounts and audit report of the Ministry of Industries, Production and Special Initiatives, carried by a section of the press.
He said that far from sale at throwaway prices, every asset was sold through open, fair and transparent competitive process under which sales proceeds of the assets were maximised after valuation in accordance with universally established standards.-PR
