Local farmers have protested against the shortage of the DAP fertilisers, as the local district administration still remains unable to control the sale of the DAP and urea fertilisers in both neighbouring Sialkot and Narowal districts, besides, remaining allegedly failure in curbing the menace of the artificial shortage of the fertilisers.
Talking to the newsmen, here, the protesting farmers said that the dealers and stockists have increased the rates of DAP fertilisers and selling the DAP fertilisers at the enhanced rate of Rs 1380 per bag instead of Rs 665 in both Sialkot and Narowal districts due to the lacked check of the local district governments.
The protesting farmers and growers have said that these dealers and stockists were exploiting those poor farmers who had borrowed the urea fertilisers due to their financial crisis before this hike per bag in the rate of fertilisers in Sialkot, Daska, Bhopalwala, Sambrial, Uggoki, Satrah, Pasrur, Chawinda, Badiana, Shakargarh, Zafarwal, Kot Nainaan, Baddo Malhi, Noor Kot, Narowal and their surrounding urban and rural areas.
Meanwhile, the Chairman Citizens' Rights Protection Forum Dr Muneer Butt has expressed grave concern over this hike in the prices of urea prices and urged the local district government to take serious notice of this critical situation.
