The prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) have increased in the country due to import of LPG and linking its rate with the prices prevalent in the international market. This was stated by Chairman LPG Distributors Association, Abdul Hadi Khan, while talking to newsmen, here on Monday.
Abdul Hadi Khan maintained that neither they will join any strike nor are with the mafia observing strike for their personal stakes. However, he averred that LPG distributors may be given six-month time to adopt precautionary measures while doing business of distribution of LPG. He also asked the government to act against those factories engaged in manufacturing of substandard LPG gas cylinders.
Abdul Hadi Khan further asked the government to form a committee comprising representatives of marketing companies, distributors, civil defence personnel which will assess working conditions of the LPG distributors and allow those observing precautionary measures. Among others, Mian Liaquat, Ali Haider, Haji Siraj and Amir Badr were also present on the occasion.
