Beneficial results of wheat exports suspension have been witness in the market as the flour mills reduced atta prices by Rs 60 per 80-kg bag on Wednesday, traders said. "Suspension of wheat exports has improved the grains supply in the market, which was badly disturbed due to the buying by exporters," they said.
As a result of the cut in atta prices the 80-kg bag is now available for Rs 1050 in the wholesale market which had gone up to Rs 1,110. Atta price in the retail market has declined by Rs 1 per kg. As a result, flour price has declined from Rs 16 per kg to Rs 15 per kg in the retail market, traders said. They said that branded wheat flour prices have still not been cut which is still being sold at Rs 17 per kg in the retail market.
Flour millers said that prices of flour in the country were stabilising after suspension of exports of wheat and there was no likelihood of increase in the prices.
