Mobilink has announced a joint-initiative with the Ministry of Tourism to promote 'Destination Pakistan 2007' project, through the International Travel & Tourism Mart Pakistan (ITTMP) 2007. The event is being held at the Karachi Expo Centre on June 01-03.
Federal Minister for Tourism Nilofar Bakhtair will inaugurate the exhibition, said a press release on Wednesday. According to the agreement, Mobilink is the lead sponsor of the upcoming International Travel & Tourism Mart Pakistan 2007 (ITTMP), being organised by the Ministry of Tourism.
Mobilink along with other organisations such as Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), and Pakistan Hotels Association (PHA) will set up stalls at the venue. The event is managed by 4th Dimension (Pvt) Ltd.
The government of Pakistan has officially declared 2007 as "Visit Pakistan Year". The project will consist of establishing a softer, active and tourist-friendly image of Pakistan via a healthy mix of events and activities organised throughout the year. This patriotic partnership is an elaborate mix of promotional activities on a variety of fronts all geared towards highlighting the Ministry's Destination Pakistan 2007 project.
Bilal Munir Sheikh, Vice President Marketing, while commenting on the event said, "Mobilink is proud to be part of this important initiative. The company believes in endorsing the softer image of the country and facilitating the cause."
"We at Mobilink take time to reach out to the people and are proud to be associated with ITTMP. As market leaders, we assume the responsibility to promote and enhance the image of Pakistan in the international arena," he added. "We also realise that expansion and growth in the tourism sector will automatically have a direct impact on the development of other sectors in the country."
Initiatives planned under this agreement include co-branded outdoor communication promoting Destination Pakistan 2007, production of co-branded Guide Maps for all major cities that will be circulated both domestically and internationally and joint-broadcast media to be aired globally via CNN and BBC international beams.-PR
