Several people have been arrested in connection with a plot against ground operations at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, CNN said on Saturday. The FBI said there was no threat to the public from the plot.
Citing unnamed high-level government officials, CNN said one of the suspects had been arrested in New York and the others in a Caribbean country. "There is no threat to air safety or the public related to this plot," FBI spokesman Richard Kolko said in Washington.
The FBI and New York City's joint terrorism task force scheduled a press conference for 1 pm, the FBI said. CNN said it was unclear what the suspects were going to do and that the plot did not appear to be imminent.
