With a view to giving experience and exposure to the panel of 10 upcoming and emerging umpires, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is holding a fast track panel umpires seminar from Tuesday (June 12) here at Gaddafi Stadium. General Manager umpires and referees PCB Khizar Hayat will conduct the seminar.
According to a spokesman of PCB, most of our senior umpires are reaching the age of retirement within two years, therefore, it is important to train the next breed of quality umpires at the earliest so that they can soon take their positions. He said quality in umpiring could be achieved through imparting better knowledge of the laws and good field practice.
