Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaaf chairman Imran Khan has said that President General Pervez Musharraf should resign now. He said that he did not support PML-Q but he did support General Pervez Musharraf's 7-point agenda. Talking to BBC news channel in London he said that he misjudged General Pervez Musharraf, so he initially supported him.
He said that he thought that he would bring democracy in Pakistan. He said that when he felt that General Musharraf failed to fulfil his commitments then he withdrew his support. Answering a question on the Presidential reference on Chief Justice, he said that it was not the corruption issue that forced General Musharraf to forward a reference to the Supreme Judicial Council, it was something more than what meets the eyes. He said that the biggest criminals and corrupt people of the country are surrounding General Musharraf.
He said that if President Musharraf wants to eliminate corruption from Pakistan he should separate himself from these people. He said that President Musharraf wants to be elected from this assembly and he knows that in the presence of Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry he could not do so as such, he filed reference.
