Syed Wasif Aziz, 27, was returning home after attending a meeting in Jaffar Tayyar Society, Malir, when two unknown snipers, pillion-riding a motorcycle, opened fired on him at about 1am near Bundu Khan Hotel, Malir. He died on the spot.
Saudabad police took the body into custody and shifted to JPMC Hospital for post-mortem. The autopsy report unveiled that victim had received two bullets to his chest and two in head. The victim was said to be a final-year student of a local college. He belonged to the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) and recently made president of Muttahida Tallaba Mahaz.
Police refrained to disclose details of the murder case. He was laid to rest at DHA graveyard in Phase-4 here on Wednesday. Ex-City Nazim Niamatullah Khan led the funeral prayer attended by thousands of students and political activities.
