Architecture Protection Society (APS) has demanded of the government to save the shrines of spiritual saints from the encroachers, Qabza-groups, and land grabbers and protect the historical gates, monuments, Wall around the old city.
Chairman of APS Sheikh Niaz Muhammad said in a press statement that Multan is the ancient city of south Asia and it is the oldest than Lahore and Delhi but there is no agency or department to preserve these historical places, buildings and other things. He said that Multan is rich in knowledge, spirituality. Sheikh Niaz Muhammad demanded for immediate establishment of directorate of archaeology and allocation of sufficient funds for the rehabilitation of historical places like "Parhalad-Temple", Boundary wall of Multan city.
