The provincial budget of NWFP for financial year 2007-08 would be presented in the NWFP Assembly on Saturday. The Provincial Minister for Finance, Shah Raz Khan would present the budget.
The total outlay of the budget is likely to be more than Rs 100 billion. The estimated current expenditure for the year is about Rs 55 billion. The provincial government would receive Rs 55 billion from federal divisible pool.
A 33 percent increase is expected in the annual development programme of the provincial government for next financial year for the rapid completion of the ongoing and new schemes throughout the province.
The estimated volume of the annual development programme for next financial year is Rs 32 billion of which more than 80 percent would be diverted to the ongoing schemes while 15 percent new schemes are likely to be included in the development programme of the government.
