The start of the fourth and final Test between England and West Indies was put back a day because of torrential rain on Friday. Officials called off the first day's play at lunchtime after waiting nearly two hours for the rain to ease.
The toss had been scheduled for 0930 GMT but, with covers all over the Chester-le-Street pitch, it was unable to take place. Rain was forecast throughout the day. England won the series with victory at Old Trafford on Monday giving them an unassailable 2-0 lead. The first Test at Lord's was drawn.
