Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation Ltd (Passco) has procured 1.268 million tons which is 97.57 percent of the assigned target of 1.3 million tons. According to a spokesman of the Corporation, procurement is still on and will remain continued till the end of this month.
Moreover, Passco has a carry-over stock of 0.232 million tons and if it is added to this year's procurement, total stock of wheat held by it comes to 1.5 million tons which is much more than the target, the spokesman added. Meanwhile, according to a spokesman of the Food department, it has procured 2,565,255 metric tons of the wheat yet and has distributed 26,946,280 gunny bags.
