Senior artists, producers and film industry stars have demanded of the government to take immediate action against those who attacked the stage dancer Saima Khan in Allama Iqbal Town on Wednesday.
While addressing the newsmen here on Thursday, Sohail Ahmad, Khushboo, Asha Chaudhry, Irma Chuadhry, Tariq Taddy, Asif Iqbal, Amanat Chan, Sardar Kamal, Tahira Khan, Changez Awan, Zulfiqar Chaudhry, Sajan Abbas, Arshad Chaudhry, Waheed Butt and others expressed their disappointment over the government and Culture Department for not taking any step to hunt down the perpetrator. Sohail pointed out that the accused Shakeel Chota made threatening phone calls from following cell numbers 0334-7989632, 0332-4923942 and demanded Rs 10 million from Saima Khan.
He further said that the accused was also making threatening calls other senior actors including Nida Chaudhry and Changez Awan. He said that actors had informed police department but police did not move to arrest the culprit. At the end, actors staged demonstration and raised slogans against Home and Police departments.
