Punjab government has started survey of the affected areas of Tehsil Kamalia to assess the loss and damage to the crops and dwellings and in this regard a relief centre has been established at TMA Kamalia for the affectees where food items and medicines are being provided to them.
It was informed by the Secretary Relief and Crisis Management Punjab Brigadier Ghazanfar Ali here on Friday in a meeting that was also attended by Director General Relief Chaudhry Muhammad Azam. Brigadier Ghazanfar said that rain water had drained out of Kamalia city. He said that the chief minister had already announced financial assistance of Rs 100,000 each to the families of deceased persons. Food items are being supplied in the rural areas of Kamalia and Pirmahal, he added.
Director General Relief informed the meeting that electricity had also restored in the effected areas and day and nigh duty and free medicines at THQ hospital Kamalia and RHC Pirmahal and RHC 740/GB Kamalia have been ensured. He said that joint teams of Revenue department and concerned government functionaries are surveying for estimation of damage to crops and dwellings so that a report could be furnish to the chief minister Punjab, he added.
