The provincial government is constantly in touch with the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) and Siemens on continuous power failure and long hours of loadshedding in the city. Sindh Minister for Transport, Labour and Industries, Mohammed Adil Siddiqui said this on Thursday night.
Speaking at the book launching ceremony of former chairman Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) Shaikh Manzar Alam "Sach Ki Kirney", the minister hoped that power supply situation will improve considerably in "the next few months". Criticising those who create law and order problem on pretext of power failure, he said that every body knows who they are and what they want, he said.
Regarding killing on May 12, the minister termed it a conspiracy and added that the government will soon unfold the mystery of this conspiracy. Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Ijazul Haq emphasised the need that ruling and opposition parties should work together for the betterment of the country.
He criticised British government for conferring knighthood on Salman Rushdie and demanded its immediate withdrawal. He said that British Foreign office has apologised on the knighthood and added that British Prime Minister have to apologies on this issue.
Vice President, Karachi Art Consul, Syed Masood Hashmi said that art consul was getting only Rs 10,000 per year and now on taking up the issue with Governor Sindh it has been increased to Rs 5 million. Chairman, KATI Masood Naqi said that present government has made remarkable efforts to improve infrastructure in Korangi Industrial Area.
