The lawyers here in metropolis observed the usual token strike against the suspension of the chief justice and did not appear before the courts' proceedings for an hour.
The Lahore High Court Bar, Lahore Bar and Adliya Bchao Committee (ABC) also held hunger strike camps in the bar premises. The senior bar members, office bearers, political party workers, human rights activists and members of other civil society organisations joined these camps.
They expressed their solidarity with lawyers in their struggle for the independence of judiciary and revival of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
