President General Pervez Musharraf, highlighting the importance of the role of executive arm of the government in national development, has underlined the need to further improve it.
Speaking at the passing out of 86th National Management Course of National School of Public Policy here on Saturday, the President took keen interest in the future performance of the civil servants.
Governor Punjab Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd), Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Salman Shah were also present on the occasion. Speaking about the overall performance of the country in different sectors, the President underscored the need for public service-oriented goals and bold decisions by 'bureaucracy'.
He said, "Nobody can deny importance and effectiveness of executive arm but there is need to further improve it to ensure that good public-welfare policies are not only evolved but also implemented." Later the President gave away certificates to the participants of the course.
