The health experts have advised the citizens to prevent themselves from the heat gripping the country as it may cause certain seasonal diseases during summer. According to health professionals, when the temperature goes high in the summer season there is a chance of outbreak of several seasonal diseases which may seriously affect the people.
The doctors advised that the citizens should adopt preventive measures to protect themselves from summer- related diseases. The temperature in most cities of the countries recorded over 40 C and in some cities it counted at 45 C which means that the extreme hot weather gripped the entire country.
The health experts said during this season the citizens must use boiled water besides ensuring proper cleaning of water-tanks, wells and other water-storage places.
They said the people should use fresh food and avoid to use unhygienic food while use of open juices and fruits being sold in the markets should also be avoided.
Dr Sharif Astori of Federal Government Services Hospitals (Poly Clinic) said the citizens must cover heads and use umbrella to protect from sunstroke and place fence on doors and windows to avoid from mosquitoes. He advised the citizens that they should increase using fresh water in the season as the human body needs enough water in such season.
When contacted an official of Health Ministry said special instructions have been issued to the hospitals particulary federal government hospitals to provide best possible treatment to those patients being affected from the hot weather.
"Though we are vigilant but it is responsibility of every citizen to adopt preventive measures and follow the guidelines of health experts regarding summer weather."
He said precautionary measures should be adopted to protect from mosquitoes which breed in clean water stored at homes and offices and bite during daytime may cause dengue fever.
He added the citizens must ensure that all doors and windows of homes and offices are properly netted, spray regularly premises with effective insecticides, wear seasonal cloths and use mosquitoes nets or repellents like mats, coils and repellents. The citizens should also avoid to store water in open containers for more than two days and avoid to stay drinking water uncovered or open.
