The lawyers' community observed token strike here on Monday to protest against suspension of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. The lawyers did not appear before the courts from 10.30 am to 11.30 am.
The Lahore High Court Bar Association, Lahore Bar Association and 'Adliya Bachao Committee' (ABC) also held hunger strike camps in their respective premises. Political activists visited the camps and expressed solidarity with the lawyers in their struggle for independence of judiciary and restoration of Chief Justice Pakistan.
