UET Lahore is the oldest and pioneer institution of Engineering and Technology of this country. It has three campuses including Main Campus, Kala Shah Kaku Campus and Faisalabad Campus in addition to one constituent college Rachna College of Engineering and Technology, Gujranwala.
There are eight technical colleges affiliated with UET at undergraduate level. The main campus at Lahore offers graduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. level degrees in eighteen disciplines.
The Faisalabad Campus offers graduate level degrees in three disciplines and the Kala Shah Kaku Campus offers graduate level degrees in three disciplines also. The Rachna College of Engineering and Technology offers graduate level degree in three disciplines. Rachna and Faisalabad Campuses would become University in near future.
Five advanced research centers including Energy Technologies Development Center, Nano Technology Development Center, Bio-Medical Engineering Research Center, Aero Space Engineering Center and Advanced Construction Materials Research Center are also being set-up at Kala Shah Kaku. The number of disciplines to be offered at all these campuses will increase in phases. It would take care of infrastructural HRD and Equipment requirements. It would strengthen the research capability of University manifolds.
UET's mission is to maintain its status as the most prestigious Engineering University of the country by excellent teaching commitment and research in collaboration with industry to materialise socio-economic development of the country.
The basis for selecting the sites of new campuses was to position them in close vicinity of the Industry for setting-up collaborative research programmes.
