CAMS School of Law is the fruition of an idea the seed of which was sown in 1993 when professionals from the fields of accountancy, business management and law came together to establish the College of Accounting and Management Sciences.
The legal fraternity in Pakistan has for long called for a modern law school which achieves world class standards in the pedagogy of law and provides opportunities for law students to acquire solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
CAMS School of Law is structured as a response to such demands, and raises the bar by drawing from its strengths of an internationally prestigious programme offering in the form of the University of London External Programme LLB and its distinguished, experienced and internationally connected faculty members who have achieved recognition both in Pakistan and overseas at the highest international levels.
Globalisation and technological advances have been powerful stimuli for economic activity. The spur in economic activity has created increased opportunities for professionals to provide their services to clients at home and abroad. The access CAMS School of Law has to international legal networks makes our students well-positioned for taking advantage of the opportunities created by our international connections.
While the winds of change stirred by globalisation and economic activity have brought about variations in the detail of our laws, what has been unremitting is the aspiration of the legal profession to competently serve the community in the regulation of its social structures, in the conduct of its commerce and in the administration of justice.
CAMS School of Law seeks to develop professional competence in its students and inculcate in them the sense of the vital role they will play as guardians of the law active in the service and preservation of society, and the obligation such a role places upon them to observe the highest standards of ethical conduct in their stewardship of social justice.
(The writer is President CAMS School of Law.)
