Argentine 2006/07 wheat export commitments totalled 8.82 million tonnes by June 29, unchanged from a week earlier, the Agriculture Secretariat said in its latest weekly report. By the same date last year, Argentina had sold 7.05 million tonnes of the grain.
The government did not report new sales last week. A top-five wheat exporter, Argentina suspended 2006/07 wheat exports in March in an effort to ensure domestic supplies, but sales can still be made if export commitments were authorised before then.
