KARACHI: Police released Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi leader Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman who was earlier arrested from Idara Noor e Haq here on Friday.
The JI Karachi chapter had planned a sit-in against alleged anti-consumer behavior of the Karachi-Electric (KE); however, the police uprooted the protest camp of the JI at Shahra e Faisal and arrested Rehman.
However, the JI sources said that now the sit-in against the KE would be held at Tariq Road. Later, after talks at the police station, police released the JI leader; however, some workers were still in police custody.
