Nokia Siemens Networks, the Finnish-German telecom networks manufacturer, said Tuesday it had signed a memorandum of understanding worth 900 million dollars (662.3 million euros) with India's Bharti Airtel.
Under the deal, Nokia Siemens Networks will expand Bharti Airtel's mobile, fixed and intelligent network platforms. Nokia Siemens Networks will expand Airtel's GSM network in eight regions where it has already provided equipment and managed services, a statement said. The Finnish-German company will also expand Bharti Airtel's next generation network and its international calling card prepaid service capacity by 4.5 million new users.
