Altaf holds Lal Masjid administration responsible for loss of lives

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder and leader Altaf Hussain has expressed his grief and sorrow over the loss of lives of security personnel, journalists and other innocent persons as a result of firing incidents between the arm men of Lal Masjid and law enforcement personnel.
He held the Lal Masjid administration responsible for the tragic incident who he said adopted the path of terrorism and armed activities. In his statement Altaf Hussain said that the scholar of the country, Muftis, Mashaikhs and even the Imam of Holy Ka'aba Sharif had appealed to the administration of Lal Masjid to refrain from terrorism and arm activities and not take the law in their own hands.
But it was sad that the Lal Masjid administration paid no attention to these and targeted the citizens and foreigners of their armed activities resulting in damaging Pakistan's image here and abroad.
Altaf said that at a time when the people of Pakistan were saddened because the devastation and loss of lives and properties caused by the floods and rainstorms, the tragic incident in the federal capital has added to the miseries of the innocent people of Pakistan.
Acclaiming the government restraint regarding the issue he said that the government displayed remarkable patients but the Lal Masjid administration resorted to unconstitutional and unlawful armed activities and presented a distorted image of Islam.
