Germany is still seeking consular contact with two men, who are being held as terrorism suspects in Pakistan and who are reported to have German nationality, a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said in Berlin on Sunday. She said German diplomats had not been able to meet with them, but were in touch with Pakistan officials about the case and were seeking access.
Earlier, Pakistan officials said the men had entered Pakistan territory from Afghanistan and were attempting to continue their journey into Iran bound for Western Europe.
A border-guard officer in Quetta, said they were brothers of Turkish extraction and were associated with the al Qaeda terrorism network, having gone to a al Qaeda training camp in Afghanistan. They were described as being in their late 20s or early 30s and were also alleged to have Turkish passports.
