Former Indian prime minister Chandra Shekhar died here on Sunday at the Apollo Hospital after a prolonged illness. He was eighty. Chandra Shekhar, who served as prime minister for a brief period between November 10, 1990 and March 6, 1991 was suffering from deadly disease of blood cancer.
He was elected to the Lok Sabha for eight times and was also elected to Rajya Sabha in 1962. Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other leaders have expressed condolences over his death.
