Troops of Army engineers are working their day in and day out to strengthen the flood protection Bund to check any further breach in area of Shahdadkot.
More than 700 troops are deployed at Kamber (Shahdadkot). Troops are also deployed at Mohenjodaro for relief and rescue operation. More than 150 troops along with motor boats and life jackets are carrying out relief operation at Sajawal (Thatta) and district Dadu.
Similarly relief and rescue operation continue in Balochistan, says a press release issued by ISPR here on Sunday.
In Khuzdar Army and Frontier Corps troops are busy in relief operation. In last 24 hours troops of Army distributed 534 food packets, 722 blankets, 65 dates packets and 19 stoves among flood affected people. Troops are also busy in relief operation in Nal city. Medical camps have been established and troops have distributed 15 tons of relief items.
In Gwadar, 43 tons of relief items have been distributed among victims. In Pasni 11 tons of relief goods were distributed by Pakistan Coast Guard. A loaded C-130 received from Corps Headquarters Karachi was also delivered at Pasni.
In Sibi, in last 24 hours 13 sorties of Army Aviation helicopters distributed 8 tons of relief goods and rescued 40 people from different parts of the district.
More than 1,200 patients were treated in the medical camps. Relief efforts also continue in Turbat, Jacobabad and Naushki. Relief goods arriving through C-130 aircraft of PAF and by road are being distributed among victims by Army Aviation helicopters.
Most of the road communication has been restored in Balochistan by Frontier Works Organisation and Army engineers. Construction of Bund has been completed in Panjgur city.
Naushki-Kharan road has been opened for all types of traffic. Makran Coastal Highway is clear for light traffic. Sorab-Hoshab road has been opened and road link between Turbat to Quetta has been restored.
It may be mentioned that more that 82 sorties of C-130 aircraft of PAF has transported almost 700 tons of relief goods from Chaklala and PAF Base Faisal Karachi to affected areas. As many as 25 Army Aviation helicopters are round the clock busy in distributing these relief items among affected people.
