A seminar was held on amendments in Income Tax Ordinance 2001 in light with Finance Act 2007, here at the conference room of Regional Tax Office Peshawar. Speaking at the inaugural session, Director General Regional Tax Office (RTO) Peshawar, Ms Abida Ali advised the Tax Officers to keep themselves aware and up to date from the latest changes in taxation rules.
The Director General also directed the officers to keep updated in filing of income tax returns through electronic means, advance tax procedures, group taxation, obligatory wealth statement and other amendments.
Director General RTO, while dilating on the reasons for these amendments, said that these amendments would benefit in many ways, including facilitation of taxpayers, improvement in revenue, modernisation of documentation and simplification in understanding of tax laws.
In was attended by Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Additional Commissioners, Sales Tax Collectors and other officers. During the question answer session, Secretary Income Tax Policy briefed the participants on a number of amendments in the Income Tax Ordinance 2001.
