District Nazim Jamshoro Malik Asad Sikander has presented the budget for 2007-2008 at the district assembly hall, Jamshoro. The budget has been passed by all members of district council unanimously. District Nazim Malik Asad Sikander said that the Sindh government has given more than 13.659 billion rupees to the district government.
Which is just four percent more than pervious year whereas 15 percent salary raise has been given to district government employees in accordance with the announcement of the provincial government. He appealed the Sindh government to approve at least Rs 20 billion grant to meet the district requirements. The provincial government should give Rs 50 billion per annual so that provision of clean water, health facilities, education, and electricity to the people and construction of the roads could be ensured.
He said that the district government had earmarked Rs 12.1705 billion for the salaries of employees and Rs 34.070 million other expenditures, Rs 147.904 million for the ongoing schemes and Rs 37.010 million for new schemes.
Rs 12.370million have allocated for the citizen community board, Rs 52.970 million rupees health and education, Rs 100 million for Sindh education reforms program, Rs 114.05 million for NPIW, Rs 186 million for district development program from that spent on different development schemes of district. The federal government had also granted Rs 2.252 million, which would be used on schemes pointed out by ladies members of district council.
Income of district has estimated the 248.011 million rupees from open balance account four, 1,365.982 million rupees from single line budget. 34.577million from the district OZT share, 120.033 million rupees balance left Dadu district, 52 970 million rupees expected from Sindh doled social sector program (SDSSP) and 144.405 million rupees expected from national program for improvement of water courses.
Total amount of income is the 1941.880 million rupees so above expenditures has mentioned total amount with left amount 1941.880 million rupees but 26.854 million rupees are left.
The district nazim appreciated all members of the district assembly and said this is modal budget of district Jamshoro. "I am trying to get more funds from provincial as well as federal government which would be used on beautifying of Jamshoro district.
Before the budget section the people of Taluka Manjhand demonstrate outside of assembly hall. They demanded that Taluka headquarter office be shifted at the Manjhand town because the provincial government has issued letter in which it says that Taluka Manjhand headquarter at Manjhand not Sann. They demanded that district assembly should pass the resolution to transfer headquarter of Manjhand from Sann to Manjhand Taluk.
Opposition leader of district Jamshoro Roshan Ali Baro said the budget of 2007-2008 is public budget it will beneficial for the people of district. He added that in other district ruling and opposition resists against each other so district Jamshoro is one of district in which district government and opposition works together this is symbol of tolerance and coordination.
