Power Supply to the different areas of Hayatabad, University Road, University Campus, Peshawar Cantonment, Kohat Road and its adjoining areas was restored on Wednesday night. Power supply to these localities was disrupted after some unknown miscreants blown up the 132kv transmission line heavy at Sheikhan Mustazai, Badbher a suburban locality of the city.
The targeting of the heavy transmission line emanating from 500kv Sheikh Muhammadi Grid Station resulted in disruption of power supply to 132kv Peshawar Industrial, 132kv Peshawar University, 132kv Peshawar Cantt and 132kv Bara Grid Stations. The miscreants blown up all the four legs of the heavy tower through dynamite resultantly the heavy tower totally collapsed.
The technical staff of Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) immediately made temporary arrangements and after hectic efforts power supply to these areas was restored through alternative source. Meanwhile, The Grid Construction Division of PESCO has already started the rehabilitation and construction work to erect the electricity tower, on war footing basis and the power supply to the affected areas of 132kv Peshawar University, 132kv Peshawar Industrial, 132kv Peshawar Cantt and 132kv Bara Grid Stations would be restored tonight on permanent basis.
