The Lahore High Court (LHC) dismissed several identical petitions filed by daily wage employees relieved from service by their contractors enlisted with the Pakistan International Airlines Corporation. The petitioner Muhammad Hanif and others were daily wage earners who were enlisted with a contractor at Lahore but were relieved from service by the contractor.
Upon instruction from PIA to take already working suitable daily wagers on PIA contract, the petitioners filed the petition for regularisation of their service which was rejected by the LHC on the ground that regularisation could only be claimed by an employee.
