Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal Secretary General Maulana Fazlur Rahman, Federal Ministers Aftab Ahmad Khan Shepao, Ijazul Huq, Muhammad Ali Durrani, Tariq Azim and some officers of the security forces has been beefed up, reliable sources said.
The sensitive agencies have come to know that Pakistani and Afghan Taliban have prepared a hit list comprising of names of leader of the opposition and MMA SG, Maulana Fazlur Rahman, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Muhammad Ali Durrani, Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Minister for Religious Affairs Ijazul Huq, State Minister for I&B Tariq Azim and some officers of the security services.
Prior to Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa incident, the security of some ministers including Federal Interior Minister has been made stringent, however, after the latest information, the security arrangements for the federal ministers, whose names exist in the hit list, have been further strengthened. It is said Maulana Fazlur Rahman and all other concerned personalities have been advised to remain careful.
Sources further said the terrorists have assigned the responsibility to the suicide bombers for targeting the said high-profile personalities. It is being said the highly trained assailants have been strictly warned that they should not miss the target. The sources reported that some women and children were also included among the suicide bombers, among whom the permits to paradise have also been distributed.
