Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has a proud history of professionalism and whenever called upon to respond to the cause of national defence, PAF has fully demonstrated its ability by accepting every challenge with courage and aplomb.
This was stated by Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, while presiding over the convocation ceremony of 20 Air War Course, said a statement of PAF, Karachi here on Saturday.
He paid glowing tributes to PAF and its training institutions, particularly the Air War College, which has made singular contribution towards making PAF a truly professional outfit to reckon with.
While congratulating the graduates, who also included officers from friendly countries like China, Egypt, Iran, Indonesia, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Qatar, Turkey and UAE, besides officers from Army and Navy, he expressed hope that through the knowledge acquired here they will make a profound impact on the strategic thinking in their respective services.
Commenting on the strategic environment he said: "New military hardware and information networks have gradually transformed the operational concepts and strategic orientation. Any nation, which lags behind in this revolution in military affairs will suffer handicap, with serious implications," the Governor stressed.
Notwithstanding the role of leading-edge technologies, some latest examples of asymmetric warfare in Afghanistan and Middle East point out at the limitations of technology, he added. Therefore, he urged the graduating officers to continue prepare themselves as a leader of men to meet all these challenges with sagacity and meticulous planning. The Commandant of Air War College, Air Vice Marshal Tubrez Asif thanked the guests for attending the function.
