People belonging to all shades of life have hailed the speech of President Pervez Musharraf and pledged to extend full support to the government for purging the country from menace of extremism and terrorists.
The elimination of extremism and terrorism had become more imperative at this juncture for making the country free from terrorists for the continuation of economic development process of the country.
Talking to Business Recorder here on Saturday President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Sheikh Abdul Waheed Sandal said that the business community of this export-oriented city and hub of cottage industry of the country pledged to support and extend complete co-operation to President Pervez Musharraf for weeding out the terrorism and extremism from gross root level in the country.
The government had mobilised all resources and channels for resolving the "Lal Masjid" incident but unfortunately the management of the Lal Masjid was reluctant to hear anything, he said. The SCCI president pointed out that due to the effective and concrete polices of the government the country had tracked on the right direction as a result of which Pakistan has become a hub for the foreign investment.
To sustain the economic development and ensure more foreign investment, the elimination of such elements had become order of the day he said. Waheed Sandal reiterated that business community of Sialkot would fully back the government for maintaining law and order, especially the weeding out the menace of terrorism and extremism from the society for further accelerating the pace of economic growth in the country. The Vice President SCCI Choudary Raza Munir also expressed the similar views.
Many others have also welcomed the speech of President Pervez Musharraf including vice president labour wing (Women) and member Sialkot district assembly Sumreen Kauser Gillani, Sajila Ansar Bajwa member Punjab Assembly and Rana Ejaz Ahmad convenor of Sialkot district assembly and said that expunging of extremism and terrorism had become more imperative at this juncture not only for protecting the ideological and solidarity of the country.
They vowed to extend co-operation for making the country free from extremism and terrorism for the national interest and solidarity of the country. Some housewives called upon the parents that they should send their children in nearby mosques for learning Holy Quran instead of Madrassah and keep a vigilant eye on the activities of children.
