Ukraine boosted wheat exports to 728,100 tonnes in June from 40,400 in May, analysts said on Monday, quoting preliminary official data. Kiev-based ProAgro agriculture constancy said in a statement the country had also exported 297,900 tonnes of barley in June compared with 285,900 in May.
The constancy said Ukraine exported wheat mostly to Israel and Egypt while it sold barley mostly to Saudi Arabia in June. ProAgro said Ukraine had reduced wheat exports to 3.299 million tonnes in the 2006/07 season (July-June) from 6.481 million in 2005/06. The barley exports rose to a record 5.155 million tonne last season from 3.953 million in 2005/06 and peas exports rose to 256,700 tonnes from 179,800 a season.
