The lawyers' community observed token strike against suspension of Chief Justice of Pakistan here on Tuesday and did not appear before the courts. A caravan of lawyers also left for Islamabad to hear the address of Chief Justice Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry arranged by Islamabad Bar Association.
The office bearers and senior members of the bar also joined the hunger strike camps set up by the bar and 'Adliya Bechao' Committee before leaving Islamabad with other bar members to press the government to withdraw the suspension orders of Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. Political party workers, human rights activists and members of civil society also joined the camps that chanted slogans against the government.
