Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab has arrested Assistant Accountant of Finance Department Punjab, Malik Fayyaz, who was posted at District Accounts office, Sialkot, for taking bribe to clear pension case of a widow and he has been sent to lockup for further investigations.
According to a spokesman of ACE Punjab, a retired Sub-Inspector Punjab Police Muhammad Ramzan lodged a complaint to Anti-Corruption Office, Sialkot, that his nephew Rashid Majeed who was a police official, died during service. His widow has been deprived off pension, as her family pension case is lying pending in District Accounts Office, Sialkot.
It was alleged that Malik Fayyaz Assistant Accountant of Finance Department Punjab, posted at DAO Sialkot has refused to clear her pension case without illegal gratification. Anti-corruption authorities decided to arrest the accused red handed and Circle Officer Anti-Corruption Sialkot Rana Mahmood-ul-Hassan conducted a raid under supervision of Magistrate Sajawal Khan. The raiding party arrested Malik Fayyaz Assistant Accountant from DAO Sialkot red handed when he was taking kickback of Rs 1, 000 from Muhammad Ramzan to clear the pension case of widow. The accused has been sent to lockup after registration of a case against him.
