A special squad of Solid Waste Management (SWM) department, City District Government Lahore, on Tuesday took 18 tractor-trolleys into custody and impounded them at its central workshop at Outfall Road for transporting mud and sand without cover, and creating pollution.
The trolleys were captured from various central roads including Bund Road, Saggian Bridge and Outfall Road. The action was taken on the instruction of CDGL Nazim Mian Amer Mehmood with the help of traffic police. The CGDL would keep on efforts to control movement of uncovered tractor-trolleys in the city to protect the environment, said official sources.
