In order to promote hotel management and tourism in Pakistan witnessing fast growth in the hotel industry, a Hotel Management, Tourism and Travel Institute is being established here in private sector at a cost of Rs 50 million.
Syed Arshad Ali, a renowned name in Hotel Management, while addressing a press conference, here on Tuesday, said that fast growth in hotel industry, the development of trained manpower has become most imperative now. He informed that the Institute would have its affiliation with a Swiss Hotel Organisation and will conduct three basic diploma and advance courses.
The Institute, he said, plans to make inroad into the interior of Sindh to pursue the youth to join hottel management which, in turn will greatly help overcome unemployment. He said the existing situation is that hotel industry is moving towards a positive direction with great demand for people having experience in hotel management world over.
He said that to facilitate the youth in the interior of Sindh, the institute has established a web site hotel_jobs.pk, the first and the only job placement organisation, specifically catering to job opportunities in the hotel industry, not only within but also outside Pakistan. He said the government has been approached for a piece of land for setting up the institute.
