The Lahore High Court chief justice ordered the police to ban people from praying only on this Friday in the court premises because of security measures. The offices closed after office hours. The court registrar also put up a notice at the gate, asking mosque goers to stop praying since the imam felt unwell.
The police closed the gate of another mosque of the Auqaf Department, adjacent to the court, and stopped bar members from using it for Friday prayers. The police also disallowed anyone to enter the court premises without scanning. They also placed more contingents around the court building and set up barriers on all entries leading to the court's main building. The LHC offices were closed soon after office hours.
The bar members, however, remained in the bar rooms and heard the Supreme Court verdict on the petitions filed by Chief Justice Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in the bar.
