The Karachi Port handled 107,931 tonnes cargo including 77,491 tonnes import, 30,440 tonnes export cargo and 2,224 containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 56,036 tonnes dry cargo including 24,862 tonnes general cargo; 2,315 tonnes fertiliser; 24,000 tonnes coal; 1,446 tonnes cement; 3,413 tonnes wheat and 51,895 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Three ships namely Sp 5-Eric G Gibson, Hyundai Highway and Hansa Stavanger sailed out to sea during the report period. Four vessels viz Emirates Meru, Soon Fu, Golina and Shamrock Vanus are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Blue Seas, B. Europa and Shamrock Vanus expected to sail on Saturday, while seven vessels viz Champion Arctic, MT Lalazar, Grand Hero, Industrial Dawn, Soon Fu, Cosco Shekou and Hayley Nadhi expected to sail on Sunday.
Five vessels viz Olympic Security, OEL Spirit, Grand Hero, Ocean Frontier and Industrial Dawn due to arrive on Saturday, while seven ships namely Hayley Nadhi, Cosco Shekou, Marina Star-1, Victory-1, Tarpon Santiago, Blue Arrow and Al-Wakra are due to arrive on Sunday. Eight vessels viz Sunniva, Betatank-11, Stolt Ami, Kama Bhum, Tower Bridge, MOL Admiration, OEL Trust and Pac Aries are due to arrive on Monday.
The cargo comprised of 26,325 tonnes furnace oil; 8,042 tonnes edible oil; 133 tonnes chemicals; 1,252 tonnes cement and 53,890 tonnes containerised cargo. Two ships namely MT Shemrock Venus and MV Asco sailed out to sea during the report period. Two container vessels viz CV Maersk Novazzano and MT New Toyokaze are expected to sail on Saturday.
No ships are currently at the outer anchorage. Six vessels viz CV Maersk Novazzano, CMA CGM Tulip, MV Asco, MT New Toyokaze, MT Grigoroussa-1 and MT Shemrock Venus are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, edible oil, furnace oil and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.
Container vessel Pacheco due to take berth at Container Terminal on Saturday. Three vessels viz CV MSC Corinna, MT Amundsen Wind and MT Chem Jasmine with containers and edible oil due to arrive on Saturday, while four more ships namely MT Al-Maqwa, MV Makran, MT Oriental Miho and MT Nogogini with diesel oil, iron ore and chemicals are due to arrive on Sunday.
