The European Commission said on July 18 it had closed its antitrust case against Vodafone in Britain and Germany, as well as O2 and T-Mobile in Germany related to wholesale roaming charges.
The move comes after the European Union passed new rules on roaming, or using a mobile phone abroad, in June. The EU's executive Commission was concerned that the charges these companies levied on other operators were too high.
But in June, the EU set new rules that capped the so-called roaming charges at a wholesale and retail level, applying to all telecom firms operating in the 27-member bloc.
