The federal law minister Muhammad Wasi Zafar on Sunday welcomed the restoration of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and termed the Supreme Court verdict as historic. Responding a query, he said he is not going to resign as Law Minister.
He dubbed the apex court decision restoring the Chief Justice and setting aside the presidential reference as a constitutional and ambiguity-free verdict. However, he said final statement in this regard could only be made after announcement of detailed judgement of the Supreme Court.
Commenting on telephone from his native town Jarranwala, he said the Court's verdict is clear and without any ambiguity. He termed the verdict a remarkable decision and added the government accepts the decision with an open heart. To a question, Wasi said he had never suggested for filing a second reference against the Chief Justice.
